Equipment list: - Scalpel - Board - Lab coat, gloves and goggles - Scissors - Probe When dissecting the heart, I simply made an incision along the pulmonary veins in order to get into the left atrium and cut along the heart until i got to the bottom of the left ventricle, allowing me to see inside and to view how thick the muscle was on the left side. I then did the same on the other side and cut down along the vena cava to the bottom of the right ventricle. This allowed me to compare the muscle thickness on both sides of the heart. I found that the muscle wall on the left side was far thicker, which is to be expected as it has to pump blood around the entire body and therefore will require more strength. Sources:
